Questions, answered

Start with clarity.

Is ASCEND a crew agency?

Recruitment is one of ten pillars. ASCEND connects recruitment, employment, health and wellbeing, performance, structured learning and fleet operations across the crew lifecycle.

Who is ASCEND for?

Adult crew, captains, yacht owners, family offices, fleet managers and approved specialists. Availability and eligibility depend on the agreed service scope and jurisdiction.

Can owners or captains see health or counselling notes?

No by default. Operational readiness may be shared where lawful and necessary, but confidential specialist records require separate systems, permissions and professional governance.

Does Academy replace accredited training providers?

No. Academy coordinates approved learning pathways and evidence. Qualification validity, accreditation and assessment remain with the identified competent provider or authority.

Does Payroll hold or move crew money?

That depends on the approved provider and contract. Payroll access, authorization, segregation of duties, tax treatment and payment controls must be defined before activation. The core website does not store bank details.

Does ASCEND Compliance guarantee compliance?

No. It helps responsible professionals monitor obligations, documents and evidence. Owners, employers, managers, captains and qualified advisers retain their legal and operational responsibilities.

Does routing replace onboard decisions?

No. Routing information is decision support only and never replaces official sources, onboard procedures, professional judgment or the Master’s authority.

Does ASCEND provide financial, tax or legal advice?

The Finance pillar provides education. Personalized regulated advice must come from an appropriately qualified professional under separate terms.

How do we begin?

Use the contact form. ASCEND should first agree goals, fleet scope, roles, data boundaries, jurisdictions, responsibilities and measurable outcomes.
